CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE.
FOCUSED ON PLAYER GROWTH.
Patrick Neary brings 15 years of coaching experience to Shenendehowa’s boys varsity staff. His background spans high school and Nike EYBL basketball, with coaching roles at Albany Academy and City Rocks.
A Clifton Park resident, Neary joins a Shen staff led by Andrew Platek, a former player he coached with City Rocks.
Coaching Background
Patrick Neary spent five seasons coaching at Albany Academy, where he helped the program compete against top regional teams and win a New York State Federation Championship.
Over more than 15 seasons with City Rocks, Neary served as both an assistant and a head coach. His teams competed on the Nike EYBL grassroots circuit, and he helped lead teams to titles at the Peach Invitational Tournament and the AAU National Championship.
Player Development
Neary has worked with and mentored more than 30 NCAA Division I athletes and coached multiple players who went on to the NBA. His approach focuses on helping players build the habits and mental preparation they’ll need as they move from high school and grassroots basketball to the college and professional levels.
A Local Connection
Neary coached Andrew Platek for four years when Platek played for City Rocks. At Shenendehowa, they reunite on the same coaching staff. Neary lives in Clifton Park with his wife and daughter.
